I get these in our Desert Willow trees. They're leaf hoppers. Ours have bright orange on the lower part of their legs. I've seen larger black ones. Don't be surprised when getting too close to photograph one of these if it doesn't jump up and buzz at you. They do fly. They don't hurt you, but if you're not expecting it the results can be rather amuzing to anyone who is watching you. :-)
